Itinerary

Day 1: Portsmouth

Today you will embark Saga Pearl II in Portsmouth.

Day 2 & 3: At Sea

Day 4: Lisbon, Portugal

Set on seven hills on the banks of the River Tagus, Lisbon has been the capital of Portugal since the 13th century. It is a city famous for its majestic architecture, old wooden trams, Moorish features and more than twenty centuries of history.

Day 5: At Sea

Day 6: Tangier, Morocco

Overlooking the Straits of Gibraltar, the city lies on a bay between two promontories. With its old Kasbah, panoramic views, elegant buildings, squares and places of interest, there is much to discover in both the new and old parts of the city.

Day 7: Melilla, Spain

Although tucked into the Rif coast of Morocco, Melilla is actually a Spanish enclave, and the European influences are evident in the city's Gothic and modernist architecture. With a chequered past that has seen it come under Phoenician, Punic, Roman and Byzantine rule, it has been part of Spain since 1497. Perhaps take in the history on a guided walk around this port city.

Day 8: At Sea

Day 9: Algiers, Algeria

Beginning life as a Phoenician outpost, the capital and largest city of Algeria is also known as ‘Algiers the White’ for its gleaming white buildings. You can join a tour to explore such sites as the amphitheatre, baths and basilicas of Tipaza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or tour places associated with World War II on our selection of optional excursions.

Day 10: Mahon, Menorca

Quieter and more relaxed than the resorts of neighbouring Majorca, the capital of Minorca is a great place to unwind with its array of cafes, restaurants and colourful shops. You might like to join a coast-to-coast tour of the island to learn about its history and traditions.

Day 11: At Sea

Day 12: Motril, Spain

The pretty town of Motril sits on the coastline of Spain's Costa Tropical. From here you may like to head to Granada to visit the Alhambra palace, and enjoy lunch in a cave in the Albaicin Quarter, accompanied by a display of traditional flamenco.

Day 13: Malaga, Spain

Set on Spain's popular Costa do Sol, spend some time discovering what remains the Phoenicians, Romans and Moors left behind in this sun-blessed city. Alternatively, branch out into the romantic Andalusian countryside to discover idyllic mountain villages, such as Mijas, or visit the Vintage Car and Couture museum. With an overnight stay in port you can also venture out to experience Malaga’s vibrant nightlife.

Day 14: Ceuta, Spain

Enjoy a stroll around Ceuta, a Spanish enclave on the North African coast. Here, Moroccan and Spanish cultures create an interesting mix, and you might like to explore the ruins of the city wall and an old fort.

Day 15 - 17: At Sea

Day 18: Portsmouth

Today you will arrive back in Portsmouth to end your cruise.
